Dox, n. personal information about a person (for example: their real name, home address, phone number) that has been released on the web. Usually used to harass or shame the person; v. to release a person’s “dox” (in the noun sense) on the web. (The Online Slang Dictionary)
Shun, v. 1: avoid and stay away from deliberately; stay clear of [syn: shun, eschew] 2: expel from a community or group [syn: banish, ban, ostracize, ostracise, shun, cast out, blackball] (WordNet)
Another term for shunning is “Negative Social Preferencing.”
The purpose of Dox & Shun is to serve as a forum and repository for identifying evildoers — particularly those who work for political governments and therefore enjoy substantial immunity from legal actions which might bring them to bay — and amassing and aggregating information about them (“doxing” them), enabling and encouraging all good people to ostracize, boycott and shame them (“shun” them).
